Hypochlorous acid (HOCI) in Skin Defense is a weak acid (similar pH to intact skin), and a naturally occurring chemical in our bodies. HOCI is made by our own white blood cells. HOCI is produced by electrolyzed salt water in an anode chamber of an electrolyte cell. An electro-chemical reaction takes place and it converts an aqueous solution of sodium chloride (salt water) into a solution known as anolyte, or electrolyzed water.
